- Trade Waste Collections, Do East Hampshire DC provide this Service?
Trade refuse collections are not provided as part of the Council Tax or
National Non-Domestic Rates.
As from 1st October 2001, EHDC no longer operated a direct trade waste
service. Our service was sold to Veolia ES Onyx Ltd and their telephone numbers
are: 01730 893791 for properties north of Petersfield, and 0800 1693311 for
Petersfield itself and anything south of Petersfield.
Although East Hampshire District Council does not directly operate a trade
refuse collection service, it can organise this service on your behalf. If EHDC
does organise your commercial waste collections then it will levy an additional
administration charge for doing this.
Local businesses are advised that in addition to Veolia ES Onyx Ltd, other
reputable trade/commercial refuse collection companies also operate in the
district, and will collect all types of waste at frequencies to suit your
circumstances. EHDC can provide a list of commercial waste collectors on
request, or alternatively businesses can find details through the Yellow
Pages.
EHDC are also currently unable to provide recycling to these businesses
although there are many companies who are able to provide such a service in the
East Hampshire District. Further details can be found at the Project Integra
website, http://www.integr
a.org.uk/wastedirectory/materials.html.
- Why do I need a trade waste collection?
Trade refuse collections are not provided as part of the Council Tax or
National Non-Domestic Rates.
If you operate a business or run a company of any size you invariably
generate some sort of waste. The law demands that this waste is disposed of
via an authorised waste collection agent, who will levy a charge in return.
