- 1. Service Description
What is the aim/role of tourism? Tourism marketing aims to attract visitors
to the area, enhancing the local economy. As an area of outstanding natural
beauty, East Hampshire should encourage visitors who will respect the
environment and the needs of the local community. Tourism in East Hampshire
should be based upon the well balanced development of the area's assets rather
than the introduction of major new activities or large scale expansion of the
existing facilities.
WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE THIS THROUGH:-
- Tourism action plan in line with the policies of VisitBritain, Tourism
South East (the Regional Tourist Board) and the RDA (Regional Development
Agency).
- Partnership with hotels, guest accommodation, self-catering accommodation,
visitor attractions, retailers and transport companies.
- Networking of support services and agencies.
