Community forums

The community forums are designed to target community issues by listening to what local people have to say and working in partnership to get things done.

With input from a whole cross-section of groups, including town, parish, district and county councillors, residents and volunteers, the forums will be able to get right to the heart of the matter. Other agencies such as the NHS and the police may also attend.

There are four forums in East Hampshire:

Local residents are encouraged to bring community issues and projects to the meetings in their area to help them focus on tackling tough local problems.

The format provides an effective collaboration between three tiers of local government, partner organisations and residents to meet the aspirations of local communities.

The forums will help identify and prioritise the most important local issues and compile them into a detailed and focussed Community Action Plan.

Whether a community needs more youth facilities, better countryside conservation, improved public transport or a new building the new community forums will be able to advise and support residents towards their goal.
