Education in East Hampshire:
East Hampshire has an excellent range of schools and educational facilities including independent and grant maintained schools and colleges. In addition there are three universities in Surrey, Portsmouth and Southampton, within close proximity to East Hampshire. Adult and Workforce training is co-ordinated through Hampshire Training and Enterprise Council.
East Hampshire has a good reputation of obtaining GCSE results above the national average.
51 state schools (43 primary, 6 secondary and 2 special needs) are located within East Hampshire looking after the educational and training needs of over 15,000 pupils.

All East Hampshire schools accept children at the age of four.
Six secondary schools are located in Alton, Bordon, Horndean, Liphook and Petersfield.
Higher education is available nearby with the universities of Southampton, Portsmouth and Surrey a short journey away. The Southampton and Chichester Institutes, King Alfred's College and Sparsholt Agricultural College are also close to the District.
