QUEEN'S AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE 2009

East Hampshire Businesses are encouraged to apply now for the 2009 Awards.

The closing date for the 2009 Nominations is 31st October 2008 at midnight.

The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious Awards for business performance. They recognise and reward outstanding achievement by UK companies. There are three categories: International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development.

Judging is thorough, so you should apply only if you can answer a definite 'yes' to these four questions: 
     •  Does your business have a base in the UK? 
     •  Does your business employ at least two full-time workers (or part-time
        equivalent)?
    •  Do you believe your business is one of the best?
    •  Can you demonstrate commercial success?

  • The Aerogen Company Limited, Alton: for International Trade
  • Imaginatick PLC, Winchester: for International Trade
  • Quantum Research Group, Hamble, Southampton: for International Trade
  • De La Rue Currency, Basingstoke: for Innovation
  • Snell & Willcox Ltd, Havant: for Innovation
  • Tacktick Limited, Emsworth: for Innovation
  • Image Processing Techniques Ltd., Basingstoke: for Innovation
  • Permanent Publications, Petersfield: for Sustainable Development

There is also an individual award:

The Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP) celebrates and recognises the activities of individuals who have played an outstanding and significant role in promoting enterprise skills and attitudes in others in the UK. There will be up to ten Awards each year and a single Lifetime Achievement Award if there is an appropriate candidate.

In 2007 Mrs Anne Duncan, Chief Executive, Yellowfin Ltd., Southampton was one of the ten winners.
