    East Hampshire has some fine restaurants, welcoming pubs and cosy cafes. The area has distinctive village shops and farm shops.
     
    The  towns of Petersfield and Alton maintain their traditional market squares and hold regular weekly markets. On market days the towns buzz with activity, local people and visitors enjoying the fresh produce the market traders have to offer. Wednesday and Saturday are market days in Petersfield. Tuesday is market day in Alton .
     
    A celebration of local food and farming takes place in the form of the Hampshire Food Festival. The East Hampshire Food Trail leaflet is available for download here or from Petersfield Tourist Information Centre or email tourism@easthants.gov.uk for a copy.

    Farmers Markets are held regularly in Petersfield and Alton throughout the year.
