A taste of the countryside
East Hampshire has some fine restaurants, welcoming pubs and cosy cafes. The area has distinctive village shops and farm shops.
The towns of Petersfield and Alton maintain their traditional market squares and hold regular weekly markets. On market days the towns buzz with activity, local people and visitors enjoying the fresh produce the market traders have to offer. Wednesday and Saturday are market days in
Petersfield. Tuesday is market day in
Alton .
A celebration of local food and farming takes place in the form of the
