Hampshire Games

This is a county wide event aimed at getting more people involved in sport. There are four events which take place:

  • Parallel Games - For young people with disabilities
  • Mini Games - For young people in primary schools
  • Youth Games - For young people in secondary schools

East Hampshire District Council works closely with local sports clubs, youth groups and schools to provide a range of coaching programmes and taster sessions to encourage participation and develop club links. Teams are then selected to enter and compete against other local authorities across the district.

The Hampshire Games 2007 took place between 22nd - 24th June in Aldershot. East Hampshire entered teams in tennis, basketball and netball for the Mini Games and boccia, football and new age kurling for the Parallel Games. East Hampshire put in some strong performances and came away with a much deserved silver medal in the tennis.
