    Swine flu

The council is working with other councils and government agencies and monitoring the situation locally. This webpage will be kept up-to-date as information becomes available.

    • The majority of swine flu cases have been mild, but the virus is spreading fast in the UK. Be prepared.
    • Continue to follow good hygiene:
      - Ensure everyone washes their hands regularly with soap and water.
      - Clean surfaces regularly to get rid of germs.
      - Use tissues to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
      - Place used tissues in a bin as soon as possible.
    • If you have flu-like symptoms, follow the advice on the National Pandemic Flu Service website.
    • There are currently no restrictions on travel, but if you feel unwell, please stay at home as far as possible.
