Out of hours services for Environmental Protection
The council offers certain emergency services only, out of office hours.
Please read the following and decide which service you require before calling:-
Lost or stray dogs
- between 8- 9am weekdays, call our dog wardens on 01730 234318
- between 9am - 5pm weekdays, call our dog wardens on 01730 266551
- between 9am and 5pm on weekends and bank holidays, call the stray dog reception centre in Whitehill on 07907 911069
Engineers
An emergency service to provide help and advice on a range of issues including:-
- emergency cases for homeless persons
- flooding
- blocked and flooding drains/sewers
- imminently dangerous structures or buildings
- civil emergencies
- serious problems affecting Council owned cemeteries/Council Offices

Environmental Health
Please note that the council (with effect from 1st April 2010) no longer offers an environmental health call out service outside normal business hours.
Please note: For imminent risk to life or limb - please dial 999 for the emergency services.
Dial 101 (the single non-emergency number) for non urgent issues such as
- graffiti, vandalism, deliberate damage to property, Intimidation and harassment, begging, People being drunk or rowdy in public places
- Street Defects: street lighting, damage to road signs
- Nuisance Rubbish: fly tipping, litter and waste
- Vehicles: Abandoned or nuisance vehicles
