East Hampshire is a beautiful district with a rich and varied heritage. The Team's role is to protect important features of the district's natural and built heritage and to enhance its fine and highly valued environment.

What does that mean?

Members of the team advise planning officers on the implications of planning applications in terms of their impact upon historic buildings and conservation areas, trees and the landscape.

They also play a crucial part in preparing policies and good practice guidance to help people understand what they should be doing to protect the district's special qualities and why.

Anyone who wants to improve the local environment can also ask them for guidance and the availability of grant aid for enhancement projects.
