Business Rates - Valuation
Rateable Values of Non Domestic properties can be viewed on the Valuation Offices website at www.voa.gov.uk
What is the Valuation Office?
The Valuation Office Agency is part of the Inland Revenue. They are responsible for banding domestic properties and setting Rateable Values for non-domestic properties.
They can be contacted on 03000 501501. Take a look at their website www.voa.gov.uk for further information.
Can I appeal against my Rateable Value (Business Rates)?
If you wish to appeal against the rateable value which has been set, this can only be done through the Valuation Office. If you are still dissatisfied after an appeal you can ask for your case to be referred to the Valuation Tribunal. But do remember that rateable values can go up as well as down, and in the meantime you must pay according to the current rateable value.
A contact telephone number for the Valuation Office is 03000 501501.
Further information is available on the Valuation Office's website www.voa.gov.uk
