What if I am in full time or part time work?
You can claim Housing Benefit and or Council Tax Benefit if you work full or part time and receive a low income. We will need to see proof of your earnings. You will need to provide:-
- Your last five payslips, if you are paid weekly
- Your last three payslips if you are paid fortnightly
- Your last two payslips, if you are paid monthly or four weekly
If these are not available please ask your employer to complete a ‘Certificate of Earnings form”.
If you have only recently started work and not yet been paid, ask your employer to provide an estimate of your gross earnings, tax and National Insurance deductions. We will use this information to calculate your benefit until you receive actual details of your earnings.
