Overpayment recovery
An overpayment is an amount of Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit that has been paid to someone who is not entitled to receive it. If you have been overpaid your are duty bound to repay any sum to which you are not entitled and that East Hampshire District Council deems recoverable.
It is important that any change of circumstance is reported to the Council as soon as possible. This includes moving house, gaining employment.
