Benefits - Your Data and Data Sharing

We are always striving to work more efficiently and to enhance services for your benefit.

During the course of conducting its business, the Benefit Service collects and retains on its database personal information, such as names, addresses and financial information of its benefit customers.  We will use the information you give us to process your benefit claim. 

We will only share this information on a strictly controlled and regulated basis. We may pass the information to other agencies or organisations such as:

• The Department for Works and Pensions
• HM Revenues & Customs as allowed by law
• Partner Local Authority Havant Borough Council

We may also get information about you from certain third parties, or give them information to:

• make sure the information is accurate;
• prevent or detect crime; and
• protect public funds

These third parties include government departments, local authorities and private sector companies such as banks, credit reference agengies and organisations that may lend you money.
