     On-Street Parking -

East Hampshire District Council took over on-street parking enforcement powers from the police on April 16, 2012.

From that date parking violations will no longer be a criminal offence, handled by the police's traffic wardens.

The operation is now described as Civil Parking Enforcement and the council's Civil Enforcement Officers will be responsible for issuing tickets for parking contraventions around the district.

    Working with Havant Borough Council

The service is being run in conjunction with Havant Borough Council, which already manages its own Civil Parking Enforcement Scheme.

This has meant EHDC can avoid spending money on set-up costs as HBC has IT and other administrative equipment in place already.

The partnership is expected to save both councils more than £40,000 a year.
