Community Transport
What is Dial-a-Ride?
Dial-a-Ride provides door-to-door transport for anyone who finds it difficult or impossible to use ordinary transport. You don’t have to be registered disabled or confined to a wheelchair to use Dial-a-Ride e.g. you might have difficulty climbing the steps on buses, or be unable to walk to the bus stop.
Dial-a-Ride vehicles also carry passengers in wheelchairs. Fares are about the same as you would pay on ordinary buses. You will need to book your journey in advance to be sure of a seat. You will be collected from your door at an arranged time and the driver will help you into the vehicle. Vehicles are equipped with a lift or ramp, which can be used by anyone who has difficulty in climbing steps.
