School Travel Plans
School Travel Plans aims to reduce unnecessary car trips to school and encourage parents, pupils, teachers and visitors to travel to and from schools in safer, healthier and more environmentally sustainable ways.
Hampshire County Council and East Hampshire District Council have been involved in School Travel Planning and the Safer Routes to Schools Programme for a number of years. EHDC has 34 completed School Travel Plans, more than any other District Council area in Hampshire. Officers are now in place to offer a free school travel planning advice and support service for those schools interested in developing a travel plan.
