Wheels to Work
A new transport scheme is now operating in East Hampshire.
Wheels to Work is a moped loan scheme for people aged between 16-25 who want to access employment and training opportunities.
To be eligible for the scheme users must:-
- Live in East Hampshire
- Have no access to suitable public transport
- Have no access to private transport
- Need to access employment or employment related training; or are actively seeking work (need to attend interviews etc)
- Be referred by an agency, employer or, where this is not possible, have referred themselves.
Mopeds can be loaned between 3-12 months and all users will have to attend Compulsary Basic Training.
All mopeds are insured, taxed and MOT and a breakdown recovery service is provided. All mopeds are 50cc and users will need to apply for a provisional license prior to using a moped.
There will be a £15 weekly charge to loan a moped ( an initial downpayment of four weeks' charges will be held as a deposit)
For further information or to register for the scheme please contact Alison Wells, Wheels to Work Co-ordinator, on 0845 521 6405 or email mopedloan@cfnf.org.uk.
This Scheme is funded by Hampshire County Council and East Hampshire District Council, and is operated by Community First New Forest.
