Alton Community Centre
This page provides useful information on the current progress with the proposed new Alton Community Centre.
At the November 2008 Cabinet meeting, councillors agreed that a feasibility study be undertaken to determine whether a joint community centre and theatre could be built on the Bank Car Park in Alton.
Pottinger Architects was instructed to undertake this work. Attached are a number of working documents and conceptual designs which have been produced. Reports have been submitted to the Cabinet on 19 November 2008 and 9 September 2009.
The initial investigation of the feasibility study focussed on Bank Car Park. Due to numerous site constraints, other sites have also been considered. Further work was undertaken to scope the feasibility of a joint community centre/theatre on Lady Place Car Park.
