Alton Camera Club is hosting a free drop-in advice session at 100 Normandy Street, Alton for anyone interested in improving their photography or picture editing skills.
Starting at 7pm on Wednesday 30th May, members will be on hand throughout the evening to give practical help and advice on such subjects as improving composition, camera settings and control, downloading of digital images onto your computer and picture editing, printing and display. All ages and abilities will be catered for and people are encouraged to bring along their own cameras and pictures and pose questions to the experts on hand.
Vice chairman, Chris Pearce says “We have around forty members with very different interests and experience so the breadth of knowledge within the club is fantastic. The aim is for the evening to be a ‘hands-on’ experience so that you can learn techniques by actually doing them. It’s amazing how a few simple tips can transform your pictures. You don’t need thousands of pounds of equipment any more to get very pleasing results.”
Having recently been awarded a National Lottery, Awards For All grant, the club now has the necessary equipment to hold teaching sessions, visit organisations to present their members work and host regional and inter club competitions. New members of all ages and abilities are welcome to join the exciting program of events and competitions. More information can be found at the clubs website, www.altoncameraclub.org.uk or by calling Chris Pearce on 01420 488378.
