Honeypot brings the voices of 100 angels to Winchester

Date: Monday 3rd December

Venue: Winchester Cathedral

Time: 7pm

Honeypot, the New Forest-based children’s charity, has taken Christmas to a new level this year and today announces its line up for the Honeypot Carol Concert at Winchester Cathedral on Monday 3 rd December.

This year, the charity has upped the tempo and is bringing the 100-piece children’s choir “Central Singers”, from Chichester, who will take centre stage in the 800-seat cathedral for the first half of the evening. This will be followed by “GASP”, the University Gospel Choir in the second half.

In addition, the Christmas Market and Ice Rink are sited outside the Cathedral and will be attracting shoppers and skaters throughout the day and into the evening. With an intimate atmosphere inside and ethereal sounds filtering outdoors, the event promises to bring Christmas Cheer to everyone in the area. Tickets to the concert will be available direct from Honeypot, as well as from the Cathedral Box Office right up to the event.

With such an exciting line-up, Petersfield based, Fundraising Manager, Karen Betancourt-Jess is hopeful of a full house on the night : “Winchester Cathedral is one of the most beautiful in the country and with a 800-seat capacity, we have an opportunity to really bring the spirit of Christmas to people in the area. “The money we raise at this event will go towards helping the most vulnerable children in our community. It is hard to imagine that children in Hampshire, on our doorstep, are in need, but they are – and Honeypot is able to give them long term support, right through their childhoods.”

Karen feels it is absolutely vital to encourage people to come to the concert: “Honeypot has been operating in the Hampshire area for over ten years, and has helped thousands of incredibly vulnerable children to have a chance at childhood again. By enjoying this special evening, people will also have the satisfaction of knowing that their ticket entry price will help us to buy a Christmas gift for a child that receives none, or help cover the cost for us to give a local child a break from their home lives that they will remember forever.”

Tickets for the Event can be booked through Honeypot on 02380 890002 or email karen@honeypot.co.uk .

Tickets can also be purchased via the cathedral box office 01962 857276 or www.winchester-cathedral.org.uk .

Tickets price : £12 adult and £6 child
