    Kingsley Fete Welcomes the RAF

The village of Kingsley is holding its annual summer fete on bank holiday Sunday and this year will be visited by a Royal Air Force Chinook from Odiham.

Held at the Sports and Social Club on Sickles Lane, this year’s attractions include children’s races, local produce stalls, barbeque, bouncy castle, craft stalls and the popular instant raffles.

There will also be a children’s fancy dress competition in the garden of the Cricketers pub followed by a procession along the B3004 and down Sickles Lane. The fete will be opened by local resident Vernon Pearce following the arrival of the procession.

“We’re very excited to have a Chinook helicopter visiting us this year, we see them flying over the village a lot, it’ll be interesting to see one close up on the ground and talk to the air crew, “ said Kingsley Benefit Fund Chairman and fete organiser David Parrott. “We’re hoping for some fantastic weather and looking forward to a great afternoon”

All money raised goes to the Kingsley Benefit Fund which is run by volunteer villagers and raises money for local organisations, facilities and projects.
