Liss Woodcraft Folk dance in the Spring

Eighteen young members from Liss Woodcraft Folk celebrated the arrival of the new season by dancing in the woods at Farley Mount Country Park. They were taking part in a Spring Festival organised by Youth Clubs Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and managed by Kathy Young.

It brought together youth clubs from all over Hampshire to take part in a visual arts display by producing a show for their parents and other visitors. Liss woodcraft folk members

The dancers from Liss had been coached over the past weeks by The Ignite Dance Company and produced a polished performance on the day, much to the delight of the audience. As dusk fell over Crab Wood the show began with singing and then moved on to dance, drama, and finishing with African drumming. The stages had been designed and dressed by the young people on the day.

Pam Gruber project co-ordinator for Liss Woodcraft Folk said: "The day was a tremendous success and the young people produced a spectacular performance."
