Matt Le Tissier & Jason Dodd support BigCharityQuiz
Celebrities including Hampshire residents, former Southampton and England goalscoring midfielder Matt Le Tissier plus former Southampton captain Jason Dodd are teaming up to support the BigCharityQuiz.
It has been launched by four charities which have joined forces to raise money urgently needed to help children and teenagers in the UK. The CGD Research Trust, Over The Wall, SPARKS and The XLP Research Trust are working together to roll out The BigCharityQuiz. Local quiz events will kick off on 2 April, you can organise your quiz any time in April or even later.
Many celebrities have contributed questions to spice up the traditional quiz format. Clubs, pubs, workplaces and places of worship – in fact all meeting points for local communities - are being asked to host a BigCharityQuiz on this special day in the year. Local media will also play a vital part by helping to spread the news.
Rugby legend Martin Johnson, CBE, SPARKS president 2005/06 has thrown his considerable support behind it, and says: “The BigCharityQuiz means you can help kids and teenagers in the UK who really need it and have a great time. The quiz phenomenon is a massive one and when you team it up with raising money for charity, it deserves to become a winning formula.”
The BigCharityQuiz idea comes from The CGD Research Trust. The charities involved will work closely with a wide range of organisations to maximise impact. "We want to work with existing local quiz setups, but also inspire complete novices to have a go – either as a quizmaster or a player. So please, gather your friends and help four charities in one go!"
Quiz organizers registering by 24 March will be entered into a draw to win a celebrity quizmaster/mistress such as Dodd. Winning teams will be entered into a draw to pit their wits against a team of celebrities with Matt Le Tissier keen to take part.
