Nationwide family fitness programme runs into Alton
Run for the Children, the nationwide family fitness initiative will be hosting its annual 3k family fun run on 24 June 2007 at Anstey Park, Alton. This family fun run is open to children, parents, families and friends of all ages and abilities and you can choose to run, jog or walk.
Run for the Children is a unique initiative which encourages families to take part in fitness together and provides a healthy eating and fitness programme full of tips on healthy living. To ensure a fantastic day, Run for the Children has teamed up with East Hampshire District Council. It is also supported by the Youth Sport Trust and celebrity children’s food author, Annabel Karmel.
The fun run will start at 11 am at Anstey Park, Anstey Lane, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 2NB and follows an easy course. And if you need a further reason to join in, you can raise money for Run for the Children’s chosen charity, CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA or a charity of your choice.
Medals will be awarded to all participants on the day and all finishers are invited to send their photos of their great achievement to info@runforthechildren.co.uk to be hung on Run for the Children’s online picture gallery at www.runforthechildren.co.uk.
If you enter now, entry is £1 for children (4 to 15 years inclusive), with an £8 fee for adults or £15 for a family ‘saver’ comprising 2 adults and up to 3 children. Entry forms are still available at local schools as well as leisure centres, doctors’ surgeries and libraries, but to enter online please visit www.runforthechildren.co.uk or www.runnersworld.co.uk.
