Electoral Services
The electoral services team organises elections, including the administration of European, county council and parliamentary elections, as well as district and parish elections.
All this must be done inside the legislative framework and timetable set by government. It means organising polling stations, polling staff, the count venue, count staff, all postal votes and publicity of elections.
Electoral Registration
We conduct an annual canvass, by sending a form to every property in East Hampshire, so we can update our register of anyone that has moved.
You are required by law to give the information asked for in the form.
You can register by post, telephone, online or by SMS. You can also register monthly for the 'rolling register' which is updated each month by returning the voter registration form to us.
We do regular boundary reviews, and make sure everyone can register to vote.
Different kinds of voting
We want as many people as possible to be able to vote. There are a number of different ways you can make sure you have your say:
-
apply for a postal vote anytime of the year - just send us a postal application form
