How does it Work

  • First an officer will introduce the application.
  • Then an objector, the Town/Parish Council and the applicant (in that order) will each have a maximum of 3 minutes to put their views to the Committee.
  • The Chairman will ensure that both sides have an opportunity to speak, but an application will not be held up merely because one side is unable or does not wish to be present. An agent may act on your behalf if you are unable to attend.
  • Having made their case, representors will not be allowed to speak again at that meeting. If the application is deferred to another meeting the opportunity to speak arises again.
  • Representors may make oral comments only. Any written observations or other documents should be received by the Planning Control Manager 3 clear working days before the meeting.
  • These rules are designed to ensure fair play, and to assist the smooth running of the meeting.
