East Hampshire Youth Council
About us
East Hants Youth Council (EHYC) is a group of young people, set out to represent young people in the East Hants District. We are aged 11-21 and we all live in various places and attend the different schools across East Hampshire. Our meetings take place once a month and this includes a bi-monthly formal meeting at the East Hampshire District Council Offices alternated with an informal meeting at local youth centres and community centres across the district. We have an executive committee consisting of a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Our aim is to improve the lives of young people living in East Hampshire.
We take on two projects each year to fulfil this aim and for this year our projects are: Youth Debt and Transport. We have also taken on a campaign which is to improve the image of young people in the media.
We have a budget of £5,000 which has been allocated to our Money Pot project this year which is for goups of young people aged 11-21, who live, work or attend aducation within East Hampshire. You can apply for up to £250 for anything from the cost of a day trip to uniform or equipment. Please get in touch to find out more.
