National Food Safety week is an annual event , initially launched in 1993 and organised by Foodlink. It is aimed at raising awareness of good food safety practices in order to reduce the risk of suffering from food poisoning.

Various activities for consumers and school children are arranged throughout the UK by Environmental Health Departments, health promotion and infection control teams, schools and other interested parties.
