The 'Think Safe Partnership have now finished putting together the Think Safe DVD training package, which is available for schools and agnecies who participate in safety education for for Key satges 1 - 4 and wish to enhance their presentations . to see a brief insight of the package click on the link below;
THINK SAFE Trailer
The package has been produced in Partnership with the core agencies ( Police, Fire, Ambulance) and supported by a number of local authorities here in Hampshire including Drum Housing, Basingstoke and Deane BC, HCC Outdoor Education and Healthy Shools Teams and Hampshire Trading Standards.
The package is primarily targeted at year 6 children and schools that cannot attend one of the county ''THINK SAFE!''events that are organised by local authorites across Hampshire.
The package contains ( arranged in package and key statge order);
- Stranger Danger
- Play Safe with Dogs
- Electricity and First Aid
- Fire Safety
- Building Sites
- Internet Safety
- Water Safety
- Alcohol
- Knives
- Guns
- Plus a teachers training booklet ( covering the teaching objectives and notes about each film)
- There is a web site which will provide activity pages and resources including drama ideas based on the film scripts.
The package is already in use with Hampshire Police who are using as part of their campaign called ''FAKE'' to prevent and reduce knife and gun crime, which is part of a national iniative.
