    The cost of failure

The Health and Safety Commission has launched a ready reckoner for Britains Businesses to help them calculate how much work-related accidents and ill health are costing them.

Currently, health and safety failures cost Britains employers up to £6.5 billion every year. Over 25 million working days are lost annually, with over a million workers suffering from work related accidents and more suffering from work-related illness.
