    In October 1998 regulations came into force concerning working hours. They are called the Working Time Regulations 1998.

    Pressure is part of all jobs, and helps to keep us motivated. But excessive pressure can lead to stress, which undermines performance, is costly to employers and can make people ill.

    Employers should be aware that under the provisions of the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 there are additional risk assessment duties in respect of new or expectant mothers.

They are legally bound to bring matters, which affect their health & safety to their employers attention so it is important to have regular consultations with them.
