    SmokerSmoking

The serious health risks of smoking and passive smoking are now well known. However, these risks can be reduced significantly in the workplace by the introduction of smoking policies. It is now a requirement for employers to make arrangements to protect non-smokers from the discomfort caused by tobacco smoke in any rest rooms provided.

The Health Act 2006 and a no-smoking ban in all workplaces and enclosed public places will be introduced on 1 July 2007. However, there will be exemptions for certain premises such as domestic premises, care homes and prisons. Further advice will be available once the act has been introduced. See this link for further details of Passive Smoking.
