Core Strategy – Issues and Options

churchThe Core Strategy sets out the overall planning framework for the district. All other Local Development Framework policy documents will build on the principles in it and need to comply with it. It looks ahead up to 2026.

What's in it

The core strategy deals with issues like: What level of development will be needed? What are the roles of the various towns and villages in providing services, housing and facilities for local people?

For each topic we consider various options to tackle some of the important issues.

The sections on 'Housing' and the 'Whitehill/Bordon Opportunity' have more detail in them. These are two areas that we need to look at closely.

Now we want to know what you think

Click on the title of the paper to open the document as a pdf. We would like you to answer the questions in the online questionnaire to help us.

You do not have to answer them all. You can just answer the questions in the section you are interested in (eg Environment or Transport etc).

The documents and the questionnaires will open in separate windows when you click on the links.

The consultation ends at 5.00pm Tuesday 6th May 2008.

Community Strategy

We are asking people to say what they think should happen in the Community Strategy. The same information is being used to develop two documents and, as they are so closely linked, we are consulting on them together.

The Community Strategy focuses on what our communities have said they need and want in terms of local services and facilities; as opposed to the Core Strategy which asks where services and facilities (employment, leisure, shops, housing) can be placed.

Community Forums

The consultation is also being taken to the district’s Community Forums and there are plans for trailer events in some towns and villages. Dates for the Community Forums are:

Tuesday 12 February – Horndean Technology College
Tuesday 26 February – Alton Maltings Centre
Tuesday 4 March – Council Offices Penns Place Petersfield
Tuesday 18th March – Liphook Millennium Hall
