Planning Development

Our role

The Head of Planning Services is responsible for all planning functions and has powers which include the ability to decide applications, serve notices and name streets.

The Planning Development team gives advice and makes decisions on planning applications. We are responsible  for the promotion and control of development and the conservation and enhancement of the environment.

We also deal with appeals against decisions; ensure developments are built to the approved plans and that land or buildings are not used for unauthorised uses.
