Recycling - how and why
East Hampshire is amongst the top recyclers in the UK. As a result of the hard work of residents and the council, EHDC was awarded Beacon Council status for its waste, recycling and streetcare services in 2006/07. We were also awarded a Charter Mark for Environmental Services, which includes Refuse and Recycling.
We can help you find ways to keep a recycling record to be proud of.
Recycling A-Z
Our directory will help you go even further: to recycle more items, more often, and produce less waste.
Local Recycling Centres
Household waste recovery centres (HWRCs) around the district can be used to recycle all kinds of waste. Paper and cardboard, glass, metals, garden waste and many more types of materials can be taken to your nearest
household waste recovery centres at:

Petersfield – Bedford Road
Waterlooville – Hambledon Road
Havant – Harts Farm Way

Kitchens and gardens
We encourage people to compost as much of their garden and kitchen waste as possible, and we also offer a garden waste collection service for a very small annual fee.
Farm recycling
Did you know farms can recycle their plastic waste? The nearest service provider for East Hampshire is Agricycle South, at Rogate (near Petersfield).
