flytipping NFU pictureEasy ways of reporting

We have made the reporting form as easy as possible, whilst meeting the Environment Agency database criteria. You can report easily and quickly on this form.

Download the form to report flytipping

Alternatively you can get copies of a pre-paid post card version of the form from CPRE (Hampshire) or from your Parish Co-ordinator.  Also ringing the 101 number to Hampshire Constabulary gets it reported and recorded as a rural crime.

    Volunteer!

As a volunteer Fly-spotter all you would have to do is to keep an eye out, and report fly-tipping when you see it in the countryside by filling in the downloadable postcard.

CPRE logoA good number of parish residents, plus NFU, CLA and CPRE members have volunteered as Fly-spotters, but more are needed. This will allow us to gather as much data as possible during the pilot year. The more data we gather, the more robust the research and findings will be, enabling more action to be taken in future. If the project is successful it could be rolled out across the county in the future.

Once you have registered, you will receive an information pack, with guidance and safety tips.

For an informal chat about what's involved and the aims of the project, please telephone Becky French on 01962 779185 or email her with your name and contact details, plus the parish that you are interested in.

    Why start another fly-tipping project?

Currently there are no figures available for fly-tipping on farmland or private woodland. In this project we shall be finding out the size of the problem on private land as well as trialling different ways of reporting fly-tipping, both on public and private land, so that we can get more action to try and stop it.

NFU logoWhat results will we see?

We shall be sharing information and best practice from this pilot in East Hampshire, with other organisations. Data on the reporting form will go straight to the Environment Agency’s environmental crime team for analysis. The information will be shared with the East Hampshire District Council and we are standing by to give as much help and advice as we can to you once you have reported it. For ‘live’ incidents or those where there is definite evidence that could be used in prosecution, there is a phone hot-line (see below).

CLA logoWhat’s different about this project?

The Stop-the-Drop Fly-spotters project is the first of its kind in the South East of England. It’s led by CPRE Hampshire, working with the National Farmers’ Union, Country Land & Business Association, East Hampshire District Council and Environment Agency. The project set-up costs are funded by the South Downs Sustainable Development Fund. The project is a part of the CPRE’s national ‘Stop the Drop’ campaign, spear-headed by Bill Bryson, well-known author and President of CPRE.
