Home energy conservation (Energy saving)
The council is keen to encourage residents to find ways of reducing their energy consumption.
The council works with a number of other organisations to raise awareness of the range of energy saving measures available, such as loft and cavity wall insulation.
We have a target to reduce home energy consumption in the district by 30% by 2011.
We also promote grant schemes like Warm Front among the most vulnerable people in the community whose health could be seriously affected if they do not keep warm.
