Radar key
East Hampshire District Council provide disabled facilities at each of our nine public conveniences. They consist of a separate unit or as a combined system with the able-bodied facilities.

Raffles
If you want to collect money for charity, either through a street or house to house collection, or charitable lottery, you need a licence from the council.

Rail Exchange Voucher
Elderly and disabled people can get free travel on public buses nationwide, reduced rate travel on trains or tokens towards transport services.

Railways
East Hampshire District Council does not have principal responsibility for traffic in the area but works closely with other organisations to promote and improve sustainable local transport.

Rates
Every household in East Hampshire pays council tax which is collected by EHDC. The amount householders pay is based on the value of their home.

Refuge
The council can help you if you are fleeing your home because you are in fear of violence from someone you live with, or have lived with or had a relationship with.

Refuse - clinical waste
The council runs a service to collect syringes and infectious clinical waste. This is a free service for individual council residents living in their own home.

Refuse - garden waste
You are not allowed to place garden waste in your household refuse or recycling bin but you can sign up for a separate garden waste collection scheme for an annual charge.

Affordable housing is there to help local people who need accommodation but are unable to afford market prices.

Repair and renew grant
The Government has announced a number of schemes to support those households and businesses affected by the recent flooding (2014).

Revenues (business rates)
The council collects business rates from businesses in the area. This money goes into a central pool and then the Government gives each council a share.

EHDC is responsible for a range of licences and registrations from alcohol and entertainment to environmental permits.

Rights of Way
The council is committed to protecting and conserving the countryside in the East Hampshire area by working in partnership with other agencies.

Risk assessment
The council can advise both employers and employees about health and safety in the work place. The team will investigate complaints about workplace conditions and accidents at work.

Road closures
Requests for short term road closures in connection with carnivals, processions and parties are dealt with by the Entertainments Licensing Team.

Road Fund Licence
EHDC will remove an abandoned vehicle from a public road or an open space where the public have free access.

Road name plates
The council installs and maintains street name plates in East Hampshire. We prefer to use recycled plastic name plates where possible but in heritage areas we use cast iron name plates.
