Waste
East Hampshire District Council operates an alternate weekly kerbside recycling and refuse collection service from wheeled bins.

Waste - business
It is not part of the council's responsibilities to collect refuse from businesses. Businesses must organise their own collections. The council can help provide a list of contractors.

Waste - fly tipping
The council will remove waste and rubbish left dumped by fly tippers on public highways and public land.

Waste - fridge or freezer collection service
We operate a chargeable collection service for the environmentally-friendly disposal of fridges and freezers.

Waste - garden waste
You are not allowed to place garden waste in your household refuse or recycling bin but you can sign up for a separate garden waste collection scheme for an annual charge.

Waste - glass collection
Glass bottles and jars can be recycled through the council's kerbside collection scheme. The glass is collected every four weeks on the normal recycling day.

Waste collection - clinical waste
The council runs a service to collect syringes and infectious clinical waste. This is a free service for individual council residents living in their own home.

Waste Carrier Licence
The council will remove waste and rubbish left dumped by fly tippers on public highways and public land.

Waste reduction
You can recycle your rubbish by using the alternate weekly kerbside collection; the glass collection service and by visiting the public household waste recycling centres.

Water pipes
The council offers a 24-hour chargeable service for clearing blocked drains. Public sewers are the responsibility of the water authority and road drains are maintained by the highway authority.

Water quality
The council is responsible for testing private water supplies, such as boreholes or wells, to make sure they are safe to use for drinking and washing.
