East Hampshire is a very attractive rural district covering nearly 200 square miles. It is a very pleasant area in which to live and work and it attracts a large number of visitors each year.
East Hampshire District Council employs some 300 full and part time staff. Some services are also outsourced to external contractors.
Officers at the council carry out the policy decisions made by 44 councillors, who are elected every four years.
The council has shared a Chief Executive with Havant Borough Council since 2009, and a shared management team since 2010.
