Grants on their way to more than 600 East Hampshire businesses

More than 600 East Hampshire businesses will receive grants through the Restart grant and additional restrictions grant schemes from East Hampshire District Council (EHDC).

The details of these businesses are now undergoing fraud checks before they can be paid.

The council has emailed businesses that have previously received grants through the local restrictions support grant and earlier rounds of additional restrictions grant to invite them to apply, with a special link to speed up their application process. Any businesses that have received a grant in 2021 but not seen an email should check the inbox and junk mail of the email address they provided with their previous application.

Eligible businesses that have not previously applied for coronavirus-related business grants from EHDC can apply through the council website.

Applications for Restart grants will close at midnight on Wednesday 30 June 2021 and ARG applications will close at midnight on Monday 31 May 2021.

Lydia Morrison, Director of Corporate Services for EHDC and Havant Borough Council, said: “During the crisis, we’ve done everything we can to ensure that businesses get the grants they are entitled to as quickly as possible.

“The vast majority of eligible businesses have received some kind of grant during the last year, and we have been able to contact those businesses specifically to invite them to apply.

“There will still be some businesses in the district that have not yet applied for any grants from us, and I encourage those businesses to get an application in as soon as possible.”
