An Access Protection Line (APL) is a white road marking painted on the road in front of a properly constructed dropped kerb to highlight the presence of an access.
An APL is an advisory marking and is not legally enforceable.
A dropped kerb is enforceable regardless of whether an APL is marked on the road. If you want to report a vehicle parking over your dropped kerb please call our Parking Office on 0300 555 0705.
On receipt of your complaint we can arrange for a Civil Enforcement Officer to visit the area to see if a Penalty Charge Notice can be issued to the vehicle.
There is a non-returnable fee of £120 for processing your application. If you qualify, the road marking itself is painted free of charge.
How to apply
