Revised proposals for new Parliamentary constituency boundaries

The Boundary Commission for England is holding a final public consultation on a proposed new map of constituencies in England.

The aim of this chance is to rebalance the number of electors in each region.

The proposals and maps for the nine English regions can be found on the Boundary Commission website

The public consultation has now closed

The four-week public consultation period has now finished -  it closed on Monday 5 December 2022.

What happens next?

Tens of thousands of comments were sent in during the consultation.

Thank you for taking part - The Boundary Commission for England website

The Boundary Commission for England is looking through each and every response as they move to the next stage in the boundary review process. They will consider whether any changes should be made to the revised proposals based on this feedback, and develop their final report.

The Commission will submit its recommendations to Parliament by 1 July 2023, which will conclude the 2023 Boundary Review. Once an order has been made to give effect to the final recommendations, the new constituencies will take effect at the next general election thereafter.
