East Hampshire District Council is taking a proactive approach to improving skills, employment opportunities and supporting local enterprises through the Grow Up programme of projects, using the council’s allocation of UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The council has secured funding which we are using to support work trial placements.
Kickstart work trial scheme
Funding is available from East Hampshire District Council to subsidise wages for work trial placements with local businesses in the East Hampshire district. Businesses of all sizes are eligible for the scheme.
In particular, we encourage applications from small and medium sized businesses.
To be eligible for the scheme, businesses must:
- have offices in East Hampshire
- pay business rates to East Hampshire District Council
- offer a minimum of 25 hours per week
What is available?
- 6 months funding per work trial placement up to national living wage
How do I apply?
Please email your expression of interest with the following details to sarah.flamson@easthants.gov.uk who will contact you to discuss your proposal and advise on the application process.
We will need to know:
- your business or organisation name
- main business activity
- number of employees
- business address (including post code)
- contact name
- telephone
- email address
Can the funding be used for an existing post?
Unfortunately not.
What can the grant be spent on?
The grant is intended to subsidise wages and therefore will only be paid upon receipt of a wage slip as proof of spend on wages. Transport contribution will be used to cover costs of travel to the workplace
The transport contribution can also be used for the wheels to work scheme.
Who qualifies for the scheme?
All residents of East Hampshire District, the business will be required to prove the placement lives in the district.
What evidence is required to prove the placement is resident in East Hampshire and fits into the above categories?
Proof of residential address in East Hampshire for the placement e.g. national insurance letter, utility bills and job centre plus letter or other official document.
