EHDC Leader appointed to the board of Enterprise M3 LEP

East Hampshire District Council Leader, Cllr Richard Millard, has been appointed to sit on the board of the Enterprise M3 LEP.

As well as leading the council since May 2017, Cllr Millard is an experienced businessman and will provide important insight for the organisation.

The Enterprise M3 LEP is a partnership of business leaders and local authorities set up by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to lead economic growth and job creation in the local area.

Cllr Millard is one of three new board members drawn from local authorities around the area.

He said: “It is an absolute privilege to represent the businesses and residents of the LEP region.

“I am committed to supporting the economic growth of the region and I will work hard to make sure the fantastic work of the LEP continues.

“This region has phenomenal economic potential and I am excited to help the Enterprise M3 area further grow as a sustainable, strong and vibrant economy.”

Cllr Millard is a creative and innovative entrepreneur, having established one of the UK's leading defence consultancies working with the UK MOD and advising foreign nations.

He is also the owner of the Chocolate Frog Company, based in Oakhanger, which is well-known for its tearoom, shopping galleries and its event space, the Celebration Hall.
