Extra safety measures to ensure the safety of staff and voters at polling stations will be in place for the election of Hampshire county, the Police and Crime Commissioner, a neighbourhood plan referendum and some district and parish councils in East Hampshire.
The district will go to the polls on Thursday, 6 May, where some residents can expect to receive up to four ballot papers to mark their X on.
Polling stations will be open between 7am – 10pm on the day. Please check the details on your poll card to see which station you should be voting in.
You will see many measures in place, at your polling stations, that you have become used to in recent months – similar to shops and indoor spaces
You may have to queue to enter the polling station – as there will be a limit to the number of voters allowed in the building at any one time.
Hand sanitiser will be provided when you enter and exit the polling station, and you must wear a face covering at all times – unless you are exempt.
Markings on the floor will tell you where to go and make sure you are a safe distance from other voters and staff.
We recommend that you bring your own black pen or pencil to mark your ballot papers, but clean pencils will be available.
Staff will also follow safety guidelines and will regularly clean the polling station for your safety.
