East Hampshire District Council is saluting the contribution of service personnel and their families this week by flying the Armed Forces Day flag over its Penns Place offices.
Armed Forces Day is a national celebration of the dedication and sacrifice made by those who serve their country.
The flag was hoisted today (Monday 20 June) by EHDC Chairman, Cllr Sally Pond, and will fly until the day itself on Saturday 25 June.
Cllr Pond said: “I live in Whitehill & Bordon and, as a former garrison town, we have always had close links to the military.
“It is a great privilege to be able to pay tribute to the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces, veterans and their families and thank them on behalf of everyone in East Hampshire.”
The flag will be flown in place of the Ukraine flag, which will return on Monday 27 June.
