i) Session cookies Cookies are pieces of data created when you visit a website. The Website uses session cookies. You can set your computer not to accept cookies. Additionally, this cookie does not track visitor behaviour across multiple web sites.
ii) Log files Log files allow us to record your use of the site. The Council will be storing log files containing anonymous information from all our visitors, which we may use to improve the site. This is based on the way you move around our website and the route you used to access it.
iii) IP Addresses IP addresses will be logged for Google analytics and web marketing as well as ongoing usability decisions.

11) EU Services Directive

If you apply for any application online which is processed and regulated by East Hampshire District Council that falls in scope of the EU Services Directive we may use your details provided in the application to help us process the application using the IMI System (Internal Market Information System). The IMI is a web based portal developed by the EU Commission. It allows authorities to share information in a secure way and complies with data protection rules. IMI will only be used to exchange information regarding service providers who are in scope of the directive. Information provided will be deleted from the system 6 months are the closure of the request. When a request is sent or received authorities must have a good reason for asking or sharing requests. Only authorities involved in the request for information will be able to see the information supplied. If we were to supply sensitive data using the IMI such as criminal sanctions we will notify you that this has happened.

12) Email alerts

We have a contract with GovDelivery to supply email alerts. Users can sign up to this service by providing their email address, and can manage their subscriptions by logging in or unsubscribe from the service at any time. GovDelivery also provides message analytics which track email message open rates and link click-throughs by message recipient. This information is used only for the evaluation of message effectiveness and interest.
