Greatham teenagers will soon be able to blow off some steam on a new fitness trail thanks to a grant from East Hampshire District Council.

Greatham Parish Council has plans to replace the village’s play area to include the trail, which will give older children a space to challenge themselves.

The playground will also have a combination of adventure play equipment, toddler and inclusive play equipment and additional seating and furniture.  The new kit will be funded in part by a £19,000 grant from EHDC’s Supporting Community Fund, approved by Deputy Leader, Cllr Andy Tree.

Greatham Parish Councillor Sarajane Bartlett, said: “Greatham Parish Council is very pleased to have their application for additional funds for building a new play area in the village supported by our EHDC district councillors.

“The additional funds will allow the play area to be expanded to include fitness trail equipment, ensuring that kids of 15 years and over can enjoy the space.

“The new equipment will ensure we have a great play area for many years to come and where possible we will also re-use items that are safe and functional to do so.

Cllr Andy Tree, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Whitehill & Bordon, said: “I am very pleased to be able to support Greatham by approving this Supporting Communities Fund grant and hope it will be enjoyed by local residents."

We are committed to supporting charities, voluntary groups and community organisations within the district by providing grants and funding to support their work.
